Tenor Eric Laporte Joins Crescendi Artists

We are delighted to welcome Canadian tenor Eric Laporte to the Crescendi Artists roster for general management.

For nearly two decades, Eric Laporte has been acclaimed on international opera stages. An authentic actor and a dedicated musical interpreter, he is admired equally for his vocal brilliance and his compelling theatrical presence.

His recent engagements include Max in Der Freischütz in Kassel and Pinkerton in Madama Butterfly in Quebec City (2023); René Descartes in the world premiere of La Reine-garçon by Bilodeau & Bouchard in Montreal, Alfred in Die Fledermaus in Quebec City, and Harlekin in Ullmann’s Der Kaiser von Atlantis at the Classica Festival (2024); and the title role in Berlioz’s La damnation de Faust in Kassel (2025).

Some of the highlights of the 2025/26 season include Calaf in Robert Wilson’s staging of Turandot at the Lithuanian National Opera and Ballet, Dvořák’s Stabat Mater with the Orchestre Symphonique de Québec at the Grand Théâtre de Québec, and the title role in Wagner’s Tannhäuser at the Croatian National Theatre in Zagreb.

Previous notable projects include celebrated debuts at the Komische Oper Berlin in the title role of The Tales of Hoffmann and as Jim Mahoney in Weill’s Rise and Fall of the City of Mahagonny, both in productions by Barry Kosky. At the Frankfurt Opera, he has appeared as Oedipus in Stravinsky’s opera (conducted by Valentin Uryupin / staged by Lydia Steier) and as Ulysses in Fauré’s Pénélope under Joana Mallwitz.
