REVIEWS

Pelleas et Mélisande by C. Debussy at the Bergen National Opera (Nov. 2025)

“The role of Mélisande is sung convincingly by the talented Sofia Nesje Enger. Her lyrical soprano has a rich and beautiful timbre, with a light and appealing vibrato that suits Debussy’s speech-like melodic lines exceptionally well.”  [translated from Norwegian]
– Eystein Sandvik, NRK

“Sofia Nesje Enger is absolutely radiant as Mélisande. She has a natural presence and a physical expressiveness that allows her to convey a wealth of emotions even when standing completely still on stage. Her voice is as full of nuance as her acting, and I hope we will see her again in the Grieg Hall soon.” [translated from Norwegian]
Maja Sievers Skanding, Bergens Tidene

“Die Bergen Nasjonale Opera kümmert sich um diesen Nachwuchs: Sowohl Sofia Nesje Enger, die die Titelpartie an jedem Opernhaus der Welt singen könnte, als auch Annika Beinnes entstammen der Sommerakademie «Oper am Fjord».”
Stephan Knies, Opernwelt, Jan. 2026
