Starting Apr. 27, maestro Giordano Bellincampi will conduct Lorenzo Mariano’s staging of Puccini’s Tosca – a homage to the era of Hollywood film noir – at the Göteborg Opera in Sweden. Set in Italy during the 1930s, the story unfolds against the backdrop of a tumultuous era overshadowed by Mussolini’s authoritarian Fascist rule, characterized by its darkness and drama.
Bellincampi will alternate with the Göteborg Opera’s house conductor Aivis Greters.
Dates: Apr. 27; May 8, 12, 15, 17
