Singers

This fall mezzo-soprano Olesya Petrova will appear as Ulrica, the mysterious prophetess, in the revival of David Alden’s staging of Verdi’s Un ballo in maschera at the Metropolitan Opera New York. The opera, which is based on the historical assassination of King Gustav III of Sweden at a masked ball, is a thrilling drama of love, betrayal, and vengeance. Olesya Petrova made her Met debut in 2014 as Madelon in Andrea Chénier and has since sung several roles at the house.

Un ballo in maschera will run from October 20 to November 18 at the Met.
