INTRODUCTION

Tamta Tarielashvili stands out for her exceptional expressiveness, an intense and richly colored voice, excelling in dramatic roles of the Verdian and Wagnerian repertoire. She has been part of the ensemble at the Meiningen State Theater since the 2021/22 season.

RECENT AND FUTURE ENGAGEMENTS

Tamta Tarielashvili’s 2025/26 season at Staatstheater Meiningen includes the roles of Venus in Tannhäuser, Prima Donna in Riemannoper by Tom Johnson, Die Dame in Cardillac by Paul Hindemith, Erda in Das Rheingold, and Emilia in Otello.
During the 2026/27 season, she will reprise the roles of Erda in Das Rheingold and Emilia in Otello.

In 2025, she appeared as Amneris in Aida at the Opera House and Ballet of Tirana and as Mary in Der fliegende Holländer at the Stadttheater Linz. In the autumn, she made her debut as the First Norn in Götterdämmerung at the Teatro Comunale di Bologna under the direction of Oksana Lyniv.

Her engagements for the 2024/25 season in Meiningen included Venus in Tannhäuser, Eboli in Don Carlos, and Thirza in The Wreckers by Ethel Smyth. In spring, debuted as Brangäne in Tristan und Isolde.

BIOGRAPHY

Born in Tbilisi, Tamta Tarielashvili studied at the Accademia Lirica di Osimo under the guidance of maestros such as Alva, Cuberli, Gonzales, Juvarra, Matteuzzi, and Segalini, and at the Rossini Conservatory in Pesaro, where she received a scholarship to attend courses at the Royal Scottish Academy. She was also a student of Raina Kabaivanska at the Chigiana Academy in Siena and of Renata Scotto at the Opera Studio of the Accademia di Santa Cecilia.

She has been a winner and finalist in several competitions, including the 1st prize at the Bellini Competition in Catania (2010) and the 1st prize at the “Concorso Lirico Internazionale G. Martinelli-Pertile.” In 2013, she was selected at the “Voci Verdiane” competition to join the cast of Luisa Miller as Federica, alongside Leo Nucci and under the direction of Donato Renzetti, debuting at the Teatro Municipale in Piacenza, the Teatro Dante Alighieri in Ravenna, and in Ferrara.

She has performed roles such as Mamma Lucia in Cavalleria Rusticana (Royal Opera Copenhagen), Madelon in Andrea Chénier (Teatro Verdi di Pisa), Maddalena in Rigoletto (Staatstheater Mainz), Preziosilla in La forza del destino, Fenena in Nabucco (Festival Tizzano Val Parma), Amneris in Aida (tour in Benelux), and Emilia in Otello (Opera Festival Macerata, DVD). She debuted at the Arena di Verona as the Priestess (Aida). In Bilzen (Belgium) and Koblenz (Germany), she appeared as Azucena in Il Trovatore.

In 2020/21, she joined Theater Regensburg, performing as Emilia in Otello and debuting Wagnerian roles in Das Rheingold as Flosshilde/Erda. In 2021, she was invited again to Koblenz as Federica (Luisa Miller).

In 2021/22, she became part of the ensemble at the Meiningen State Theater, performing roles such as Mary in Der fliegende Holländer, Ortrud in Lohengrin, Third Lady in Mozart’s Die Zauberflöte, Brigitta in Die tote Stadt, Olga in Bizet’s Ivan IV (awarded by Oper! Magazine as best rediscovery), Herodias in Richard Strauss’s Salome, Farzana in Wagner’s Die Feen, Marcellina in Le nozze di Figaro and Suzuki in Puccini’s Madama Butterfly.

In concert, she has performed in Bruckner’s Te Deum (Teatro Petruzzelli di Bari, Teatro Massimo di Palermo) and Vivaldi’s Gloria (Ravenna), as well as in a gala concert (Jakarta, Indonesia) and Verdi’s Messa da Requiem (Seoul, South Korea). More recently, she participated in a charity concert at Victoria Hall (Geneva).
