Soprano Lina Johnson will appear in a festive New Year’s Eve concert on December 31, 2025, at the Teatro Filarmonico, as the Orchestra and Chorus of the Fondazione Arena di Verona welcome the new year.
Conducted by Francesco Ommassini, the program moves from highlights of The Nutcracker to a rare anthology of Viennese music honoring Johann Strauss Jr. on the 200th anniversary of his birth. The evening also features choral waltzes by Johannes Brahms in his own uncommon orchestration, and culminates in arias from Strauss’s Die Fledermaus, closing with The Blue Danube in its original choral version.
