Maestro Ingar Bergby will conduct an All-Norwegian Evening with the Stavanger Symphony Orchestra, celebrating the country’s rich musical heritage. The concerts will take place on March 27 at the Stavanger Concert Hall and March 28 at Suldal Kulturhus, featuring violinist Elise Båtnes as soloist.
The program includes Harald Sæverud’s Symphony No. 6 “Sinfonia Dolorosa”, Fartein Valen’s Violin Concerto, and Johan Svendsen’s Symphony No. 1 (it’s the symphony that led Edvard Grieg to write the famous words “Must never be performed!” on the score of his own Symphony in C minor).
