Biography

Kiril Manolov was born in Sofia, where he studied singing at the National Academy of Music. He was prize holder of various singing competitons in Bulgaria, but also in Wien, Warsaw, Barcelona and Brescia. His debut took place at the National Academy of Music in Sofia as Don Giovanni “Don Giovanni”.

In season 2018/2019 he was Tonio - “Pagliacci” in Piacenza, Simon- “Simon Boccanegra“ in Sofia and Innsbruck, Don Carlo di Vargas -“La forza de destino” in Piacenza, Reggio di Emilia and Modena, Conte di Luna - “Il Trovatore “ in Sofia, Amonasro - “Aida” Chicago symphony orchestra with Mo.Riccardo Muti.

Manolov’s future highlights include Amonasro-“Aida” at Mihaylovsky Theatre-St.Petersburg, Rigoletto-“Rigoletto“ in Innsbruck, Figaro-“Il barbiere di Siviglia” in Sofia, Michele and Gulielmo -“Il Tabarro” and “Le Villi” in VeronaGulielmo-“Le Villi” with Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra München, Simon-“Simon Boccanegra“ in Copenhagen, Sir John Falstaff-“Falstaff” in Plovdiv.

His repertoire includes the roles of Nabucco ”Nabucco” , Simon Boccanegra ”Simon Boccanegra”, Amonasro “Aida”, Marcello ”La Boheme”, Enrico ”Lucia di Lammermoor”, Germont ”La Traviata”, Renato ”Un Ballo in maschera”, Figaro “Il Barbiere di Siviglia”, Dandini ”La Cenerentola“, Falstaff ”Falstaff”, Escamilio “Carmen”, Carlo Gererd “Andrea Chenier” etc.

In 2010 he sang Sir John Falstaff “Falstaff” in new production at the Opera House of Wiesbaden and the same year he made his debut in Staats Oper Hamburg as Falstaff.

In the next years he was heard as Falstaff- “Falstaff”, Miller-“Luisa Miller”, Figaro- “Il Barbiere di Siviglia”, Simon Boccanegra- “Simon Boccanegra”, Don Pasquale- “Don Pasquale”, Amonastro- “Aida”, Don Carlo di Vargas- “La Forza del Destino” in Wiesbaden, as Conte di Luna- “Trovatore” at The Opera Cologne, as Miller- “Luisa Miller”, in Essen, Dulcamara, “L’'Elisir d'amore’ in Zagreb, Amonasro- “Aida” in Nurnberg, Don Pasquale-“Don Pasquale” in Darmstadt, Falstaff- “Falstaff” in Budapest, Hannover, Wuppertal, Ravenna and Luca.

Manolov sang Don Carlo di Vargas- “La Forza del Destino” in Parma, Ford- “Falstaff” in Piacenza, Amonasro- “Aida” in Opera di Roma, Dulcamara- “L'Elisir d'amore” Deutsche Oper Berlin, Sharples- “Madama Butterfly” Las Palmas, Falstaff- “Falstaff” in Deutsche Oper Berli, Reggio Emilia,Ferrara and Savona.

He sang with big success new producion of Falstaf— “Falstaff” with Mo. Riccardo Muti in Ravenna Festival and Oviedo in July 2015. The Italian critics announced him like the new biggest Falstaff in the world.

In the season 2016/2017 Manolov sang Don Carlo di Vargas - "La Forza del Destino"in Tampere, Michele end Ganni Schicchi - "Il Trittico" di Puccini a Opera di Roma, Dulcamara - “L’'elisir d'amore" in Seviglla, Falstaff-“Falstaff” in Savolinna Opera Festival, Nabucco-“Nabucco” in Sofia Sommer Festivall. He was Simon-"Simon Boccanegra" in Antwerpen and Gent, Nabucco -"Nabucco" in Stuttgard, Guglielmo -"Le Villi" in Sofia.

Manolov made his very successful debut in Rigoletto - "Rigoletto" in July 2017 in Savonlinna opera Festival. In season 2017/2018 he was Simon in new production of "Simon Boccanegra" in Piacenza, Tonio - “Pagliacci" in Ravenna, Falstaff - “Falstaff” in Sevilla, Simon - “Simon Boccanegra” in Ravenna, Tomski - “The Queen of spades " in Savonlinna opera festival, Alfio and Tonio - “Cavalleria rusticana and Pagliacci” in Roma.
