Since his Master degree of Music at the Sibelius academy in Helsinki 1997 Petri Lindroos has occured at many opera houses in the major European cities such as Helsinki, Stockholm, Copenhagen, Oslo, Brussels, Luxembourg, Paris, London, Munich, Milan, Rome etc.
His role repertoire includes such as King Filip/Don Carlo, Fiesco/Simone Boccanegra, Zaccharia/Il Nabucco, Mefisto/Boito, Mefistophéles/Faust by Gounod and Mefistophéles/La Damnation du Faust by Berloiz, Sarastro/Die Zauberflöte, Figaro/Le Nozze di Figaro, Commendatore and Leporello/Don Giovanni, Gremin/Onegin, and Pimen/Boris Godunov by Mussorgskij a few to mention. Petri Lindroos is also an interpreter of the big passions and masses throughout whole Europe.
To his last successes may be mentioned his interpreted Pimen in Boris Godunov at the Finnish National Opera stage and his appearing as Leporello with the La Monnaie-tour in Tokyo and a series of Verdis Requiem (Westminster Cathedral, Verdi Festival in Parma, (Riccardo Muti)) and a tour with the Bawarian Radio-orchestra doing Messe Solennelle by Berlioz also under the baton of Maestro Riccardo Muti.
Furthermore he had his debut as the Commendatore in the Don Giovanni-production at the Festival de Radio France in Montpellier and Sarastro at the Opera Berlioz also in Montpellier and Le Chatelet in Paris. He has sung at La Scala opera in Milan as King Philip in Don Carlo conducted by maestro Daniele Gatti and as Sarastro at the Chatelet opera (Paris).
In the last seasons Lindroos has appeared in roles as Sarastro (Magic flute), Basilio (Il Barbiere), Colline (La Boheme), Ramfis (Aida), Daland (Fliegende Holländer), Hunding (Die Valkyrie) and Commendatore (Don Giovanni) among others.
He also appeared as bass soloist in Verdi’s Requiem with Orchestra and Coro di Teatro san Carlo, Napoli and in Missa Solemnis (Beethoven) in Gothenburg with maestro Nagano among others.
Recent engagements include Beethoven's Sympphony 9 with Kent Nagano and Orchestre Symphonique de Montréal, Basilio/Barbiere di Siviglia at Norwegian National Opera in Oslo, Sarastro/Magic flute at Copenhagen Royal Opera, Zemlinsky's "Lyrische Sinfonie" Op. 18 at Finlandia Hall in Helsinki with Leif Segerstam, Re/Aida at Teatru Astra in Victoria, Gozo, Malta and Osmin/Die Entfuhrung aus dem Serail at Savonlinna Opera Festival.
Future engagements include Bach's Christmas Oratorio with Copenhagen Phil and Copenhagen Royal Chapel Choir, Marcel/Les Huguenots at Hungarian National Opera in Budapest, Simone/Gianni Schicchi at Norwegian National Opera, Ramfis/Aida at Opera North Leeds as well as Rocco/Fidelio at Teatro Comunale di Bologna.
In addition he still coaches and teaches students and professionals from the whole Scandinavia and is proud to be able to give forth the formidable singing technique he was taught by his father, the famous tenor, Peter Lindroos.
